Top 5 Cherry Creek Restaurants

The Cherry Cricket

For 75 years, The Cherry Cricket has been Denver’s prime choice for burgers. Part of the appeal? Its consistency and tradition. Even after a fire closed the iconic restaurant for a few months in late 2016, it came back with the same character as ever: an unfussy spot serving feel-good food and brews.

While The Cherry Cricket’s menu features sandwiches and salads with a Mexican flare— most come for the burgers, which can be customized with a choice of 34 different toppings. Go classic with bacon and American cheese, spicy with green chile strips and chipotle aioli, or eccentric with peanut butter and Fritos. Make sure to add some frings (half French fries; half onion rings) with a milkshake, and you will walk out of there full and happy!

Machete Tequila and Tacos

There’s no shortage of great tacos in Denver, but our favorites are at Machete. You can’t go wrong with the loaded Arrachera Chile Relleno taco: a house-made corn tortilla brimming with hanger steak and an Oaxaca cheese-stuffed pepper. Or, try the Barbacoa: a poblano tortilla topped with braised Colorado lamb shank and avocado puree. If you want to truly indulge (this is Cherry Creek, right?) get the Langosta, a squid ink tortilla stuffed with smoked avocado, spicy aioli, and a grilled lobster tail.

Wash it all down with one of Machete’s 14 different takes on the classic margarita. Or, keep things neat with a flight of tequilas or mezcals from Machete’s substantial liquor list.

North Italia

The sleek North Italia is where you’ll experience the luxury you expect from a Cherry Creek restaurant. Elegant food? Check. Beautiful dining room with an upscale ambiance? Check. A highly sought-after happy hour? Check and check. North Italia is the quintessential Cherry Creek restaurant.

North Italia does classic Italian food with a modern twist of mouthwatering plates like Glazed Short Rib Cavatelli, Tagliatelle with Bolognese sauce, and the addictive White Truffle Garlic Bread (order it!). And because Denver loves a good brunch, their weekend morning options— think: Glazed Italian Donut French Toast, Breakfast Carbonara Pasta, and Tuscan Bloody Marys— have earned a quality following as well.

Fortune Wok to Table

Fortune Wok to Table is a major win for Cherry Creek’s food scene. The bi-level Shanghainese spot offers two concepts: a casual, street-style menu on the first level, and a more refined menu on the second. Though the menus aren’t vast, Fortune does each of their iconic dishes very, very well.

On the more relaxed first floor restaurant, you’ll find dumplings, noodles, and fried rice. The delicious dumplings are filled with pork, beef, or vegetables before each one is perfectly hand-shaped. The noodles and fried rice are simple but offer an abundance of fresh flavors. For a more formal dinner, head upstairs where a constantly-changing menu can feature incredible gems such as duck with black mushrooms and Shanghai-style sauced sea bass.

Flower Child

This healthy-minded establishment from Arizona opened up in Cherry Creek right before the pandemic hit. What could’ve been a disastrous opening morphed into a perfect, natural fit for the neighborhood. With its farm-fresh ethos, accessible prices, and cheery environment, Flower Child has quickly become a favorite go-to for residents. Flower Child’s ambiance has a local feel, making you believe it’s been around for years.

Flower Child is especially good if you’re eating keto, gluten-free, vegan, or dairy-free, but don’t worry if you’re not— it’s got plenty of options for no restriction diets as well!
