Top 5 Atlanta Sports Bars

If you haven’t realized it yet, Atlanta is a serious sports town. Home to the Hawks, Falcons, Braves, Thrashers, and Atlanta United F.C., many locals like nothing more than pulling up a seat in a lively sports bar and watching sports on the big screen. Here are the best sports bars in Atlanta.

Sports & Social

Address: 825 Battery Ave SE #610, Atlanta, GA 30339

Neighborhood: Cumberland (next to Buckhead)

Tucked away in The Battery Atlanta — a huge shopping and dining space organized around Truist Park, where the Braves play — Sports & Social welcomes thirsty locals craving beer and bar grub. Watch your favorite team on the 30-foot LED screen and, when the game’s over, indulge in some table tennis, pop-a-shot basketball, or air hockey. You’ll never want to leave!

Feeling hungry? Sports & Social, one of the best sports bars in Atlanta for food, offers a simple, but satisfying menu with lots of snacks made for sharing. There’s also an extensive cocktail menu that includes the bar’s signature Bloody Mary.

What to Try:

If it’s early on a game day, treat yourself to the calorific chicken and waffles with honey lemon butter, sliced strawberries, and lots of syrup.

Restaurant Ten

Address: 10 Northside Dr. NW, Atlanta, GA 30314

Neighborhood: Centennial Park (near Downtown)

Just a stone’s throw from Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the shared home of the Falcons and Atlanta United, Restaurant Ten is the ultimate location to line your stomach before a big game. Wings, tacos, burgers, and regular pub fare are menu staples, with more expensive entrees for those wanting to splurge. At the bar, find craft ales, local wines, and the big-name booze you’d expect from such an establishment.

Don’t have tickets for a game at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium? Restaurant 10’s got you covered. There are multiple screens throughout the bar, so you can watch all the action happening a few yards away from you.

What to Try:

You can’t go wrong with the turkey ribs, served with mac and cheese and seasonal veggies.

Whitehall Tavern

Address: 2391 Peachtree Rd, Atlanta, GA 30305

Neighborhood: Peachtree Hills (near Buckhead)

Whitehall Tavern describes itself as the only family-friendly sports bar in Atlanta, and while that may or may not be true, children are certainly very welcome. While this pub takes its name from a now-gone West End establishment built in the 1830s, Whitehall Tavern’s decor leans more towards the modern side, with light-up beer signs in the windows and sports memorabilia on the walls.

Sandwiches and burgers make the menu, while a selection of beers and cocktails satisfy sports fans who come here to watch ESPN on multiple screens. There’s also an extensive kids’ food menu.

What to Try:

Binge on hand-breaded chicken tenders smothered in blue cheese dressing, ideal for fans of all ages.

Irby’s Tavern

Address: 322 East Paces Ferry Road NE Atlanta, GA 30305

Neighborhood: Buckhead

Irby’s Tavern is passionate about local sports teams that make Atlanta proud. Here you’ll find special events and happy hour drink offers when the bar shows major games on its screens, as well as a warm and welcoming atmosphere that you don’t always get at well-known chains. Irby’s food menu includes basic fare like wings and tacos, but its affordable prices mean you can afford an extra beer or two.

What to Try:

You can get 20 wings for less than $30 at Irby’s, making it one of the best sports bars in Atlanta for a cheap night out. Enjoy them mild, hot, with lemon pepper, or with Thai sweet chili sauce. The choice is yours.

STATS Brewpub

Address: 300 Marietta St NW, Atlanta, GA 30313

Neighborhood: Hotel District in Downtown

STATS Brewpub claims that it owns more TV screens than any other sports bar in Atlanta, so come on down if you want to watch the Falcons but only have basic cable. You can also sample the bar’s various sports-themed cocktails, including Quarterback Rating (gin, peach Schnapps, peach nectar, mint leaves, and sour mix) and Shots on Goal (Herradura Blanco, agave, lime, and sour mix).

The crowd is mixed at STATS, with the die-hards downstairs watching sports on screens and those who want a more relaxed atmosphere chilling at the rooftop bar.

What to Try:

Sample the selection of in-house ales, including STATS Bushwood IPA, with its smooth mouthfeel and juicy flavor.

Still thirsty? Head out to happy hour at one (or all) of our preferred locations.
