Free Things to Do in Atlanta

Experience Atlanta by Foot

The BeltLine

The arterial BeltLine runs through multiple neighborhoods around Atlanta. What was once a 22-mile train track around the city is now a walkable/bikeable/scooterable trail for residents and visitors alike to enjoy. Head out early with a coffee or grab some food and beverages as you traipse through Inman Park, Reynoldstown, Old Fourth Ward, and more.

Piedmont Park

Piedmont Park is nestled in the heart of Midtown and, if you’re in Atlanta, should be on your list. With 200+ acres, it contains a whole lot all in one place, including a dog park, plentiful tree coverage (if it’s shade you’re seeking), playgrounds, walking paths, and so much more.

Neighborhood Festivals

Inman Park Festival

The Inman Park Festival is a must if you live in Atlanta. It’s always a lively weekend full of food, art, music, and a neat tour of homes. The festival began in the early 1970s and has maintained its status as a mainstay in the Atlanta festival circuit (for good reasons!). Check it out for free each spring.

Atlanta Dogwood Festival

The Atlanta Dogwood Festival has been a staple event in the city for over 80 years and makes its return each spring. With an artist market, the Mimosa 5K, a kids village, and more, it’s a festival worth checking out.

Outdoor Fitness

Free Yoga in Woodruff Park

Near Downtown Atlanta? Hop over to Woodruff Park for free yoga! You’ll flow through a 60-minute vinyasa class, accessible for all-levels. Classes take place on the lawn in the center of the park. Be sure to register to reserve your spot.

November Project

November Project, a free fitness group with chapters in cities around the world, meets every Wednesday at 6:27am (yes, 6:27 precisely!) on the North Ave Bridge on the BeltLine (near Kroger). They’ll lead you through a free workout fit for any level, followed by a walk to Dancing Goats for coffee.
