When you combine creativity and hard-work with a witty sense of humor, you end up with Chase McGuire. Chase, an Operations Manager in our Denver market, is a natural comedian with incredibly ambitious goals for the company. He always looks for new ways to improve our workflows and training programs with an eye towards the company’s success and his team’s happiness. Chase’s limitless ambition and passion for his profession will undoubtedly take him far. 

Chase started as an Operations Coordinator before his recent promotion to Denver Operations Manager. As an Ops Coordinator, he dove deep into our website’s technology, a.k.a. our Portal, in order to better understand how it supports AptAmigo’s apartment search pipeline. He explains, “As an Operations Coordinator, almost the entirety of your day is spent in our Portal and deep in our CRM (customer relationship management software). We use the Portal for invoicing, scheduling, and updating building information. I can’t think of anything we don’t use the Portal for! The more time you spend familiarizing yourself with the technology, the more you find out all the ins-and-outs of how it works as well as its shortcuts. It helps us to realize the full potential of the Tech team’s work and appreciate what they worked so hard to create. I have so much respect for the Tech team and all the work they put into this program; I love all of the little shortcuts they buried in there for us. They’re like helpful little Easter eggs.”

Since Chase interacts with multiple branches of the company on a day-to-day basis, he employs his creativity and sharp eye to create more awareness of updates and changes to our technology across all departments. He recounts, for instance, his experience developing the now routine Tech Talks he delivers to a company-wide audience, “I knew from the beginning that AptAmigo was a place where my ideas would be heard. My biggest idea that I brought to my manager, Kaitlyn, was my Tech Talks. The idea came from the fact that our Portal and our CRM always change so quickly, and the Tech team works so hard to make improvements. We originally sent information about the updates in an email blast, but I thought we could create more awareness of these improvements and the CRM’s helpful shortcuts by getting the sales reps and the rest of the company ‘caught up’ about what is happening with a more in-depth explanation. So, I created Tech Talks, which are virtual meetings with slideshows and answers to questions. At first, I thought they were going to be pretty small, but Kaitlyn thought it would be a great idea to make them company wide. That encouragement from her made my original ‘5-person’ meeting turn into a 55-60 person meeting.”

The encouragement and support that comes from our higher-ups is one of the reasons why Chase stays and thrives at AptAmigo: “One of the things I love about AptAmigo is that they’re willing to give people a chance to make mistakes and explore potential career paths within the company. It allows you to develop and expand your professional skills. As an Operations Coordinator, I’ve been able to write blogs for marketing, edit designs, and try a bunch of other things I never thought I’d be able to do. Some were successful, others were a learning experience, but I’m so happy I have the opportunity to put on so many hats. I also love that you get to be an entire person here; you don’t have to guard your personality! You can make jokes and have fun. From leadership all the way down, people truly want to get to know you.”
