Christine Mei, Senior Sales Rep

Welcome to AptAmigo’s Spotlight Series, where we highlight some of the amazing people who make up our team. We’ll be chatting with people who work in a variety of roles, so check back often or view the entire series.  

Christine Mei started her job at AptAmigo in 2019 and has excelled ever since day one. Her colleagues describe her as an incredibly driven individual with an enviable and endless supply of motivational energy. As a Senior Sales Representative, when she puts her mind to a task, nothing can stop her from getting the job done. She sets new record-breaking numbers each month with the number of deals she closes, serving as living proof of how hard work can lead to immense success.

However, Christine did not begin her career in an environment that allowed her to thrive. She says, “At my last job, I struggled because I felt like I was plateauing and not growing at all. I was no longer passionate about my work, and, for the amount of effort I put in, I wasn’t seeing any returns in terms of my personal growth, or how much I wanted to make. So, I decided to go onto Built In Chicago and found a job posting by AptAmigo. I saw all the praise about the company, and I knew I wanted to be in a tech start-up environment that helped people. I decided to apply, and I got the job! It’s been smooth sailing ever since.”

When it comes to what Christine enjoys about her job, she provides a myriad of reasons: “I enjoy so many aspects of my job. First, there is a fully collaborative environment, and you’re on a team that supports you. You never have to worry that you will be on your own because your managers, your mentors, and your peers will help you throughout the entire process. Second, there’s our technology. We’re able to collect and access data on our interface so easily. It allows us to send a list of recommendations to our clients and schedule the tours in under 24 hours. There’s no better feeling than having a client apply to an apartment that is absolutely perfect for them.”

Our CEO, Dan Willenborg, encourages every person in this company to find a “work best friend,” and Christine absolutely raved about hers: “My work bestie is Franz Vossler. He has always been there to answer any of my questions and be super real and honest with me. He helps me get through the tough days and celebrates every win with me. We even get our nails done together every month!” 

Speaking of friends, the biggest reason why Christine stays at AptAmigo is because of the people. She declares, “I love having a variety of personalities in the office. Some people motivate you and push you to do your best; other people are goofy and make you laugh. Others still mentor and coach you through any type of situation that pops up. It’s really amazing to be at a company where everyone knows who you are and truly cares about your life both in and out of the office.”

Her teammates also speak highly of her character and work ethic:
